$20 minimum will cause indigestion in California | Letters

So, I see that Gavin Newsom, the California governor from Hollywood central casting, is beside himself with joy as the state puts into effect a $20-an-hour minimum wage for employees at large fast-food chains, many of them unskilled workers.

This reflects Newsom’s acute visionary, progressive agenda. Apparently, he is celebrating a wage policy that will reduce the entry-level job pool significantly, creating higher social services costs for millions of undocumented immigrants who will need public assistance because of greater unemployment among them.

But, of course, Democrat Newsom will have a a solution: raise taxes. Simple enough. And, when the bubble bursts, point at that other guy, some random Republican perhaps, and shout. He did it!”
