Eagles running back Saquon Barkley knows his dad won’t always root for him.
On a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, Barkley explained that his dad grew up rooting for the New York Jets and will always support them first.

If the Eagles and Jets played against each other in the Super Bowl, Barkley wouldn’t expect his father to change allegiances.
“He’s a Jets fan because he’s from New York, but the year he was born was ‘69,” Barkley told Jason and Travis Kelce. “He doesn’t even wear my jersey. I’m serious. I got him a Joe Namath Jets jersey, he wears that… I would hope he would switch up, but if I had to take a guess, I think he would probably cheer for the Jets to win the Super Bowl.
“Which is sad to say out loud,” Barkley added.
Barkley signed a three-year, $37.75 million contract with the Eagles last month after spending six seasons with the Giants.
If he’s able to make a significant impact, the Eagles could make another Super Bowl run and win their second Lombardi Trophy next season.
As of now, the Eagles are tied for the seventh best odds of winning the 2025 Super Bowl, and the Jets have the ninth best odds, per DraftKings.
Coming into the season, both teams have a lot of question marks to answer and could struggle making deep playoffs runs.
But each team has enough talent to exceed current expectations.
