Another year, another record set for New Jersey property taxes.

The average property tax bill for homeowners was $9,803 in 2023, according to recent data posted by the state Department of Community Affairs. That’s an increase from $9,490 in 2022.

The increase has kept pace with inflation, but property taxes in some municipalities are far above New Jersey’s sky-high average.
