Update: High wind warning for Monmouth County until Wednesday night

On Wednesday at 3:24 a.m. an updated high wind warning was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. for Monmouth County.

"Northeast to east winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected," states the weather service. "The strongest winds are expected to occur this afternoon and near the coast."

"Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," explains the weather service. "People should avoid being outside around trees. Use caution if you must drive."
