The future of 16 rent-controlled apartments in Hoboken are on the line as the city council prepares to hear an appeal of a zoning board decision before its meeting Wednesday evening.

The Hoboken Zoning Board of Adjustment granted permission in December for 325-329 Grand St. to house double the number of units than would otherwise be allowed, a decision to allow variances that resident Michael Evers is appealing because so many rent-controlled units could be affected by the decision.
