A 52-year-old man was attacked from behind and robbed while walking on Armstrong Avenue early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. between Sterling Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City spokesman Stan Eason said. The assailant, who was wearing a mask, demanded money from the victim, who was slashed five times with what was believed to be a razor.
The attacker fled with the man’s cash and identification, while the 52-year-old was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center for cuts to the face and neck area.
The incident is still under investigation.
