NEW YORK — The Mets are off to a rough start to the 2024 season.

Minutes after being swept — the first time the team’s lost three straight to start the season since 2014 — bench coach John Gibbons, who filled in for the suspended Carlos Mendoza on Sunday, informed reporters that Tylor Megill is getting a “precautionary MRI” because he was “a little bit tender in the shoulder area.”
