The Phillies game against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday has been pushed back from a scheduled 1:05 p.m. start to a 4:05 p.m. first pitch.

There is rain in the forecast for the third straight day, but the Phillies are hoping to get all three games in by pushing back the start time until the rain clears out. Weather cleared in time for Monday’s game which the Phillies lost to the Reds in 10 innings, while the teams played through a persistent rain Tuesday as Bryce Harper hit three home runs - including a grand slam - in a 9-4 win to split the first two games.

Ace Zack Wheeler, who pitched six shutout innings on Opening Day, is slated to make the start for the Phillies against Frankie Montas.

Weather has been a common theme in the early part of the season for the Phillies. Their Opening Day game against the Atlanta Braves was pushed back a day from Thursday to Friday and Saturday’s second game began almost a half-hour late because of impending rain.

Five games into the season, the Phillies have a 2-3 record. Wednesday will mark the conclusion of the season-opening six-game home stand.

They will be off Thursday before beginning a six-game road trip to Washington and St. Louis on Friday and will return to Citizens Bank Park next Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates where the weather should be much warmer and dryer.
