Will Donald Trump get an opportunity to have his private jet land on a runway at the “Donald J. Trump International Airport” in Washington D.C.?
Almost certainly not. But if a group of House Republicans had their way, the former president would get to do just that. They introduced legislation that would rename D.C.’s Washington Dulles International Airport.
The push is being led by Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-Pa.), House Republicans’ chief deputy whip, and is backed by a half dozen of his colleagues. They include Reps. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.), Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.), Chuck Fleischmann (R-Tenn.), Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) and Troy Nehls (R-Texas).
The airport is named after John Foster Dulles, a former secretary of state under President Dwight Eisenhower.
