New listings for home sales surged in 3 N.J. counties. See statewide numbers.

New listings of homes hitting the real estate market surged by 19% or more in three New Jersey counties last month, the latest figures from Realtor.com showed.

The biggest year-over-year increase was in Cumberland County with a more than 31% increase in newly listed homes for sale in February compared to the same month in 2023, according to the data. The median price for the 126 new listings in Cumberland County was $258,750.

Salem and Cape May counties also saw big percentage gains in homes hitting the real estate market. Nine counties saw fewer homes listed in February than the previous year.

Statewide, a total of 7,262 new homes were listed at a median sale price of $536,875. A total of 339,370 homes were listed nationwide at a median price of $415,500 in February.
