Powerball jackpot grows to $975M with no big winner Saturday night

The Powerball jackpot has swelled to an estimated $975 million after no tickets were sold for the top prize in Saturday’s drawing.

Tickets worth $1 million were sold for the Saturday drawing in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Louisiana and Illinois, the lottery reported. Each matched the five regular numbers but not the Powerball number.

Saturday’s winning numbers were: 12, 13, 33, 50, 52. Powerball: 23. Power Play 3x.

No one has hit the Powerball jackpot since a lottery player in Michigan won the $842.4 million jackpot on New Year’s Day.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.

Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
