$500K in cocaine seized from N.J. motel room as 4 are charged

Four men were arrested shortly after investigators found cocaine with a street value of about $500,000 in a motel room in Mercer County last month, officials said.

Detectives got a search warrant after being tipped off by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and raided a first-floor room at the Motel 6 on Route 1 in Lawrence on March 21, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday.

Police arrested William Adrover Rodriguez, 38, of Galloway, Ohio, and charged him with a slew of first-degree drug offenses when they found more than 11.2 pounds of powder cocaine, officials said.

A short distance away police found three other men and arrested them. Jamie Acevedo-Correa, 42, of Rio Grande in Cape May County; Manuel Castro Velazquez, 46, of Trenton; and Elvin Perez-Medina, 34, of Puerto Rico, are each charged with second-degree conspiracy.

Attorney information wasn’t immediately available.

Ewing, Hamilton, Lawrence and Trenton police, as well as the FBI and the DEA, worked with the Mercer County Mercer County Narcotics Task Force during an investigation that lasted several weeks, authorities said.
