$50K N.J. Powerball ticket sold at a deli

The $50,000 Powerball ticket sold in New Jersey for Monday’s lottery drawing was purchased at a deli in Camden County.

The lucky third-prize ticket was bought at Jack’s Country Farm Deli & Grill on East Evesham Road in Glendora, the New Jersey Lottery said. It matched four numbers plus the Powerball.

While no ticket holders across the country hit Monday’s $1.03 billion jackpot six, second-prize, $1 million tickets were sold — one apiece in Florida, Minnesota, North Carolina and Virginia as well as two in Maryland. Each matched five numbers but not the Powerball.

Monday’s winning numbers were: 19, 24, 40, 42 and 56. The Powerball drawn was 23 with a Power Play of 2x.

In addition, no one hit the secondary, $10 million Double Play jackpot. Those winning numbers were: 12, 15, 28, 30 and 39. The Double Play number drawn was 12.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.

Wednesday’s jackpot is worth an estimated $1.09 billion with a cash option of $527.3 million. It’s potentially the ninth largest in U.S. lottery history.

No one has hit the Powerball jackpot since a lottery player in Michigan won the $842.4 million jackpot on New Year’s Day.

Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth $36 million, with a cash option of $17.1 million.
